Ya girl has been buying & selling designer pieces online since around age 13, so you could say I have some experience finding high-end items for less AND for selling them online when it comes time to part with the goods.
Recently, I attended an event put on by The RealReal, a secondhand vintage & designer good online retailer, where the head of their authentication department gave a talk on their processes & on trends they’re noticing in TRR marketplace.
I’ve bought & sold clothes on sites like eBay, Tradesy, Poshmark, etc., but I have NEVER come across a site I trust more for buying, specifically, than The RealReal. This post isn’t sponsored by TRR at all, but I wanted to share more about them, as I get asked questions about the trustworthiness of sites like this all the time!
TRR’s authentication process is the most thorough I’ve ever seen, and I feel extremely comfortable buying high-end items from them, as well as suggesting purchasing on The RealReal to YOU. I trust them for sure.
In terms of the selling of high-end items, the process is more extensive than simply listing your item online and selling/shipping directly to a buyer. As a seller, you send your items in to TRR, they undergo the authentication process, and the team prices out the item based on back-end data. As the seller, you receive around 60% of the profits ( which is a smaller portion than other online stores ), but you don’t have to worry with posting, up keeping the listing, pricing, shipping, etc.
I’ve both bought & sold on The RealReal, and I’ve so far been happy with my experience!
I’m all for finding designer at a lower price, because there’s nothing wrong with saving a little money while indulging. Buying something special for yourself or someone else doesn’t need to absolutely break your bank, ya know?
Many of the items on TRR are 20% off right now using code REAL. To celebrate the sale, I did some shopping around the site to find a my top picks. You can find all the goods below.
HAPPY SHOPPING, ILY! x
