Hello, friend. It’s me, your favorite mass consumer, backatitagain with the solutions to all your first-world-problems.
I will admit, I have an addiction to Amazon, as many of us do, and I am committed to feeding that addiction until it drives me to near-bankruptcy, if that’s what it takes to feed my cravings.
LOL.
Anyways, I’ve been wanting to do an round-up of my most-used Amazon purchases for awhile now. I’ve been binge-watching Amazon hauls on YouTube ( the tube, if you will ) like it’s my job ( which, I guess, it kind of is? ) as of late. They’re a guilty pleasure of mine, alongside videos about visualizing multiple dimensions and compilations of classic vines. So, YA, that’s what I do with my evenings.
Let’s start on this haul, shall we?
laptop stand
This is probably this product I’m asked about most, which makes me happy, because it leads me to believe you CARE about your posture. SICK. LOVE IT.
I purchased this laptop stand after my chiropractor recommended I never again work for an extensive period of time looking down at my laptop. It’s bad for your neck or some shit like that.
cute ass tumbler
I’m going to need you to get on my reusable drink-ware LEVEL, k? This cup comes in a few different colors, too. I use it regularly for iced coffee, tea, & water. She’s a cutie.
essential oil diffuser
Picture this: it’s Sunday afternoon. You’ve just ordered your second meal of the day through Postmates, because you’re too hungover to leave your bed. While you wait, you roll out of bed and waltz over to your diffuser to load it with Tea Tree, Mint, & Eucalyptus oils. You know this combo makes you feel relaxed-yet-awake and very WELL.
Your burger finally arrives and you look at it in DISGUST, as it reminds you of the woman you were 45 minutes ago, before you ever experienced the scent of essential oils flowing through your nostrils. You’re different now. You’re better.
hair-dryer brush thing
I’m not over-exaggerating when I say that this tool changed my sad little life as I once knew it. It’s no stretch to claim I’m fucking terrible at doing my own hair. How exactly does one develop the coordination necessary to maneuver BOTH a round-brush and a hair-dryer in tandem? I gave up on this skill early on in life, accepting defeat nearly immediately ( because I’m lazy ).
Luckily, for people like myself, the “hair-dyer brush thing” exists. If I’m starting with wet hair, I’ll blow-dry my hair until its about 80% dry, section it off, and then brush through with this tool on the highest setting. I’ll also use it on dry hair to give second-day ( or third-, fourth-, maybe fifth-day, lol ) hair a revamp.
iPhone tripod
Will you do anything to get THE shot? Will you publicly embarrass yourself in the name of Instagram? Do you like to challenge your level of confidence by ASKING for public ridicule? Would you prefer that type of embarrassment to asking your friend/sister/mom/grandpa to take a photo of you?
Then, the iPhone tripod is perfect for you.
This particular tripod comes with a bluetooth remote, so you can snap away like a pro, as long as you figure out how to hide your remote-holding hand in a natural-yet-effective way.
iPhone car mount
I both feel and look like an Uber driver with my car mount, and I love it.
I use this mount mostly to facilitate navigation and song-choice while I’m on-the-go. I prefer a mount that sits on my dash to one that covers my air vents ( though those are more hidden ).
Idk if this is great to admit, but I also use this mount to make selfie-filming AND time-lapses while driving more hands-free.
laptop camera cover
… because we all already know we are constantly being watched, right? I had my laptop camera covered with tape for WAY too long. These little covers are less noticeable ( aka more professional-looking ). I will admit, applying this TEENY tiny cover to my laptop was quite tricky with my fake-ass nails, but I made it work eventually.
portable steamer
Gone are the days if steaming dresses by haphazardly hanging them in my shower and running scorching hot water for 15 minutes, wasting both WATER & my fucking time.
I’M IN LOVE WITH THIS STEAMER. I use this steamer at home, as well as while I’m traveling, because its the PERFECT, compact size. Definitely clean the water out after each use!
felt hangers
Because we love to keep our closet aesthetic on-point & we love hangers that make slippage nearly impossible. Generally, I think felt hangers are over-priced, but the pack I’ve found on Amazon is pretty affordable.
I prefer these hangers to wooden or plastic, because my tank tops & softer, silky pieces grab the felt and cling on for dear life ( because we all know that if my tank top falls off of its hanger and on to the floor, it’s staying there for awhile, collecting dust, because I’m too lazy to pick it up ).
wireless phone charger
Why do I feel like I AM Elon Musk when I place my phone on a wireless charger? Something about this simple experience has technical genius written all over it. This “power pad” charges my iPhone through it’s case, and is compatible with a number of phone models ( obviously check if yours is included before purchase ).
ice roller
I did a whole post about the benefits of ice rolling here. It also just feels REALLY good in the mornings.
extra reusable cups
This pack of two cups is good to have around for when your MAIN cup ( see above ) isn’t clean. I like to have extras around just in case. I call them my side cups.
God forbid I go through the day without a beverage consistently in-hand. Can you even imagine being so uncivilized? I’m not a fucking animal.
milk frother
Okay. Cute. My homemade morning lattes have hit a whole new level of fancy. Call me freaking barista, bitch.
I like to use this frother as a mixer for my cold iced coffees as well. I generally add cinnamon & coconut sugar to my coffee, and using the frother to mix those additions in much more effective than a spoon.
This frother is battery-powered, so make sure to order batteries as well!
Gua Sha
For LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE. I have the world’s puffiest face ( yes, that’s an official title. find me in Ripley’s, or whatever ) when I wake up in the morning, and I whole-heartedly believe in facial massage as a tool to de-puff.
I generally use an oil to facilitate facial massage ( I prefer something light, with CBD in it for the mornings, to combat redness ), patting a small amount into my skin before beginning the process ( so the gua sha doesn’t pull on my skin ). In terms of how I massage my skin, I don’t really have a organized routine, BUT Romee Strijd has a YouTube video all about how she uses a Gua Sha to sculpt her face.
I’d basically do anything this literal angel of a human tells me to do, so I trust her sculpting routine, lolz.
a more intense laptop stand/desk
Yes, I have TWO laptop stands. For variety.
I use this stand/desk for when I’m working in bed or on the couch. You can change the angle of your laptop, making it easier to work while laying-down/back, if that’s a position you’re interested in working from. There are clips on the edge of the stand to keep your laptop from sliding down as well. It’s for the lazy workaholic in us all.
So, what do y’all think? How ‘first world’ are these “necessities”? Am I dramatic and unnecessary? ( yes )
As per usual, if you try any of these things out, tag me in your instagram stories or DM me your photos. I always get a KICK out of that, LOL.
Do we like Amazon favorites posts? Should this be a thing?
Talk soon, beebs. xx
