How to Spend a Weekend in Aspen ( + What I Wore )

Hi, loves!

So, as some of you may have seen on my Instagram, I got the chance to spend a long weekend in Aspen with a few of my friends from home ( + Megan, my partner-in-crime ).

I went to Aspen as a friend’s date for a wedding ( which was GORGEOUS, by the way ), so we took part in many-a-wedding-activity, as well as ate/drank our way through Aspen in our free time.

Here’s a little Aspen Guide based on all the restaurants & bars we tried. Hopefully this is helpful for your next trip to this boujee-as-hell little ski town. I’m thinking of going back for New Year’s. Anyone planning on being there then???

Happy Aspen-ing!

where to stay

the W
if you want a posh, convenient place to stay, I highly recommend staying at The W. It’s situated in the middle of town, right at the foot of the mountain. It’s also BRAND NEW, and the vibe is so cozy & perfect.

the little nell
is kind of an institution in Aspen. It’s more on the expensive side ( everything in Aspen is expensive, but this is like THE place ), which is why I would recommend the W first. But, The Little Nell is a celeb-favorite, and rightfully so. If you have some extra $$$ to throw around, a stay here might be worth it.

little red ski haus
is where we stayed in Aspen. The wedding party had the entire place rented out ( for about 30 people ), which was convenient in terms of keeping the group together. If you’re looking for a place to house a large group, definitely check out the Little Red Ski Haus!

where to eat

white house tavern
is a great place for a quick-but-filling lunch! If you’re familiar with Hillstone restaurants, you’ll quickly notice White House Tavern is a part of the Hillstone family. I ordered the burger and it did NOT disappoint!

scarlett’s
was a solid spot for a hangover-curing brunch with a group. The menu is very straight-forward/satisfying and the staff is GREAT. Also, the bloody marys are pretty bomb.

matsuhisa
for sushi ( & an espresso martini or 2 )! I suggest any of their rolls with Tuna and all the spicy dishes on the menu! It’s a small restaurant, so make reservations before if you want a for-sure table.

clark’s
for a REALLY good brunch/lunch. We visited Clark’s on Sunday, the morning after the wedding shenanigans. I had the Linguine & Clams, one of their special menu items, and ended with the Key Lime pie ( their Basque cake is to-die-for, though! ). Highly recommend a trip to Clark’s if you’re in Aspen.

betula
for a BEAUTIFUL dinner with next-level cocktails. Dining at Betula was one of the more expensive meal experiences we had, but the food and drink was unbelievable! I ordered the biggest steak on the menu ( lol, whoops ) & plenty of the spicy tequila cocktail they have. If you want a place to BALL OUT, it’s here.

where to drink

eric’s bar
was my favorite spot to start off the evenings. Eric’s bar has a cool, relaxed vibe ( which quickly escalates depending on the crew you’re with, HA ), places to sit & drink, and pool tables for all the entertainment. This is a place you can grab a drink & watch a football game, too. Loved it!

escobar
is the place to go once you’re good & tipsy. Escobar is a smaller “club”-type establishment with the lights/DJ vibe. If you’re with a group, I recommend getting a table!

kirby ice house
for daytime hangs. We posted up for a couple of hours with a group + a magnum bottle of rosé after lunch one day. This spot is definitely relaxed & great for small or large groups!

where to shop

kemo sabe
for a western OASIS. I got my first custom hat at Kemo Sabe in Aspen, and it was an EXPERIENCE. If you’re the type to invest a little money in custom hats/boots ( my Texas is showing, lol ), Kemo Sabe is your place!
