Yo.
Hope everyone is having as perfect ( & productive ) a Tuesday as I am. The last two weeks have been a shitshow, to say the absolute least, so getting back into a healthy routine is key for me this week.
This morning, I got up early ( LOL– 8 AM is early for me ) to run, do a quick arms & abs workout video, and get a relaxing stretch in.
I whipped up my MCT Oil Smoothie post-workout, hopped in the shower for some major exfoliation & a coconut oil hair mask, and did some cleaning ( AKA: LOTS of laundry ).
Overall, this morning has been a DREAM.
So, let’s talk about my favorite part of the morning: my protein / collagen / MCT oil smoothie. I’ve been obsessing over this smoothie for awhile now, because it’s so simple to make, and it’s loaded with essential fatty acids, protein, greens, & fruit.
This smoothie helps to speed up your metabolism, improve your skin, & build your muscles. Is there literally anything else you could ask for from a smoothie?
So, what is MCT Oil?
““MCTs” are medium-chain triglycerides, a form of saturated fatty acid that has numerous health benefits, ranging from improved cognitive function to better weight management.” ( source )
“Medium-chain fats are digested easily and sent directly to your liver, where they have a thermogenic effect and the ability to positively alter your metabolism. This is one reason why many people claim that MCTs, including coconut oil, are burned by the body for energy, or “fuel,” instead of being stored as fat.” ( source )
So, coconut oil ( my ride-or-die for so many reasons ) is a type of oil that contains a level of MCTs. The difference between coconut oil & pure MCT oil? “The difference between MCT oil and coconut oil is that MCT oil is more concentrated and contains different proportions of MCTs. While coconut oil certainly has MCTs in it, concentrated MCT oil is almost entirely MCTs.” ( source )
Benefits of MCT Oils
– reducing stored body fat by raising metabolic function
– maintaining a healthy weight by making you feel fuller
– improving digestion
– absorbing fat-soluble nutrients from a variety of foods
– improving energy levels & general mood

In summary, I started using this shit in my morning smoothies because the benefits are STELLAR.
Because this stuff is pretty high in calories, I stick to putting 1 teaspoon to half a tablespoon in my morning smoothies to keep my the total calories under 400-500 cals ( though I don’t obsessively count my calories, bc whatever ).
Now, on to the recipe.
MCT Oil Smoothie Recipe
– 1 frozen banana ( I chop up 4-5 bananas, & place them in the freezer for the week! )
– 1 serving frozen berries ( about half a bag of frozen berries )
– Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens ( hellllo, beautiful skin AND protein! )
– Dash of Cinnamon
– 1 Teaspoon / .5 Tablespoon MCT Oil
– 1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
How-To
I blend all of this up in my Ninja blender, & voillllla!

I’m SUPER glad to have loaded up on all these nutrients before my afternoon seminar-type-meeting with my tech team, because I def ( again ) indulged in 4 glasses of champs while learning more about the business of blogging.
I was back on track for half of the day??? That counts???
Like I said on Instagram, who says work & play need to mutually exclusive?
I’m thinking about doing my next Blogging 101 post on what I learned today! Thoughts??
If y’all make this smoothie for yourself, DEF lemme know how you like it! Like I said, I try to make myself one of these every morning to start the day off right ( because you never know when your ability to resist bad-for-you food/substances will take a turn for the worse…. ).
Talk soon, babes. xx

I like the idea of this kind of smoothie to switch up my protein shake rut. While I don’t count calories, I try to keep mine below 400. Thanks for the tips!
