It is I, the queen of buying random shit on Amazon, & I am here to bestow upon you my coveted list of small kitchen appliances. You know you can always count on me to deliver incredibly important, top-priority, life-altering information.
While this post might not inspire any soul-sustaining revelations, it will provide you with the knowledge you need to embark on what is perhaps a more important spiritual journey: convenience in the kitchen.
LOL. Being dramatic & wordy is really all I have to entertain me at this point.
ANYWHO. Today’s Friday Favorites are actually near and dear to my heart. In all seriousness, these products have really upped my kitchen-related street cred, & I have Amazon to thank for that.
Here are the goods.
milk frother
For at-home lattes GALORE. I upgraded my milk frother recently ( to this pretty, clean-ass frother ) to ensure a small moment of happiness while making my morning or mid-day latte.
You can also use a milk frother to make things like hot cocoa & steamers ( just add in the ingredients & turn on! ).
My favorite non-dairy milk for frothing is Oatly Barista Blend, btw.
I detail 3 ways I make my morning coffee here.
air fryer
Kelsey & I are sharing her air fryer right now ( Kels, if you’re reading this, yes I am filing for joint-custody ).
I don’t know what kind of sorcery is going on here, but air fryers are magical machines. Everything takes like, 8 minutes or less to make, & the process is almost too simple.
It’s so simple that it feels like you’re doing something wrong, ya know? It makes me feel weird. It just doesn’t make sense.
But, I’m not questioning it anymore. We’ve made salmon, brussels sprouts, & even CINNAMON ROLLS in the air fryer as of late.
You can find plenty of air fryer recipes & meal inspiration on Pinterest. I don’t recommend asking me for direction quite yet, as I’ve been just throwing shit in there & seeing what happens. Experiment! Use your brains!
waffle maker
This is one of those appliances I generally forget about. I own a waffle maker, but I always overlook it.
Well, overlook-no-more!
I’ve recently discovered that you can make a number of things in a waffle maker, so I’ve redirected my attention to this appliance.
We’re planning a lil boozy brunch ( ft. waffles & mimosas ) for this weekend, actually. Get on our quarantine LEVEL. Get a waffle maker.
electric kettle
I use this EVERY single day. Whether I use my electric kettle for preparing keto coffee or evening tea, this little contraption is an important part of my daily routine.
I realize this is a super basic kitchen appliance, but I ( for some odd reason ) just got one, like, 2 weeks ago.
I understand now.
instant pot
This one-pot contraption combines a pressure cooker, rice cooker, slow cooker, steamer & warmer into one appliance. It’s witchcraft & I don’t understand its inner-workings, but I’m also not asking questions.
I got one of these solely because it feels like something a real adult would have in their kitchen. Now, I need recipes! Gimme.
fondue set
Yes. Absolutely. You need this.
I’ve always been a fan of fondue ( I mean, who isn’t a fan of a steaming pot of melted cheese or chocolate… ), and now I can bring the over-priced hors d’oeuvres experience to my own home, on the cheap.
Kels & I had a fondue night a couple of week ago ( which you can witness here ), and we truly had the time of our lives.
As per usual, consult Pinterest for recipes if you want to provide yourself with a night of melty goodness.
iced tea maker
I’ve made a case for this beautiful little appliance already here.
It’s a Texas summer staple that I’ve incorporated into my LA lifestyle.
vegetable chopper
I underestimated how much I would use this product. I literally do NOT chop veggies anymore.
Generally, I like to chop up my veggies in bulk, so I can keep them in the fridge to have on-hand for protein bowls, salads, & other meals I make at home.
This gets that job done in legitimately 30 seconds.
Clean up is simple & there are a few different options for inserts depending on the sizes you want your veggies ( or whatever else ) to be. Highly recommend.
self-heated coffee mug
This product significantly improves my mornings.
How many times do you find yourself making your way to the microwave to reheat your coffee every morning? For me, its an average of 6.
How does coffee go from the-heat-of-a-thousand-suns to chilly in .5 seconds? Where does the ‘drinkably warm’ period go?
The Ember mug is solving a first-world problem we all know too well. You can control the temperature of your coffee using an app on your phone, and the mug will sustain that temperature. The mug is charged by placing it in the saucer ( warmer ), and it will stay powered on its own for an hour.
Truly a dream product.
What are some of your favorite handy kitchen gadget you’ve found on Amazon? I’m always on the lookout for affordable ways to make my life feel a bit easier or more exciting.
& I’m obsessed with spending time making things in the kitchen lately.
Gimme some ideas! What are y’all making ( & almost more importantly, what are y’all making it IN ) lately?? Leave a lil comment.
LOVE! x
