Let’s be honest: I’ve pregamed writing this post with a solid 1/2 glass of chardonnay & I am already tipsy. ( disclaimer: I’m writing this post the night before posting, so no, I’m not drunk on Thursday morning at like 8AM ).
Tight.
Anyways. I’ve been wanting to talk about a very important, serious topic on H+H for quite awhile now: my skinny bitch grocery list.
Obviously, this topic is going to intensely impact each & every one of you. I’m just trying to change the world for the better around here, ya know?
LOL.
But really, many of you loved the grocery list I used to have on my app ( RIP, the H+H App… if any of y’all were wondering what happened to that: the company that developed my app went under & I haven’t had time to create a new one! ), so I wanted to go ahead and share my currently weekly grocery list here!
I have gotten very specific with my weekly grocery list as-of-late, because, TBH, I’m too broke AF to buy all the extras. I like to get in the grocery store, get my shit, and get out before I end up spending a gazillion dollars on things like vegan lentil chips & gluten-free protein cinnamon rolls.
Just. Not necessary to sustain life.
So, I’ve narrowed this list down to the things I actually purchase & actually consume every week. Also, at the end, I’ll add the little healthy staples that I purchase sparingly, because they last forever.
Maybe I’ll do a follow-up, typical day of meals post soon? K, yeah, actually I’m doing that. Very soon.
Alright, let’s start with some grocery store RULES to avoid spending a ton of money while also getting the best food for your bod:
- I avoid going to places like Whole Foods when I can. It’s usually overpriced, and the weird wellness/health-food fads are all-too-enticing for me. I have to keep myself away from things I don’t need because I have a habit of thinking I need them when they’re right in front of me.
- When buying produce, I always consult the Dirty Dozen/Clean 15 list to figure out which items I should splurge on, and purchase organic, and which items I’m okay to buy non-organic. This list is so helpful.
- Lately, I’ve been walking to the grocery store & bringing my own bags, which forces me to cut down on the number of things I buy.
- Lastly, I’m a member of my grocery’s rewards program ( I got to Ralph’s A LOT ), so that always saves a few bucks.
my healthy grocery list
produce
strawberries – 2 packages
avocados – 3
Cherub tomatoes – 1 package
bananas – 6
butter lettuce – 3 packages

Simple Truth eggs – either the 1 dozen or 18-pack
Simple Truth chicken breasts
dairy
feta cheese
beverages
Suja drinking vinegar
( ^basically has the same benefits as my wellness shot! )
Chameleon Cold Brew
Organic lemon juice ( to go in my water! )
Simple Truth organic almond milk ( unsweetened )
packaged/etc.
Simple Truth corn tortilla chips
Pace salsa
Tessemae’s salad dressing
frozen
Simple Truth Gluten-Free multigrain waffles
things I buy monthly/every other month
MCT Oil ( will explain my love for this later )
Chia seeds
Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides ( not purchased online– but worth it! )
USUALLY, I can get in & out of the grocery store spending around $60 for the week. USUALLY. IF I don’t have to buy something boring & annoying like trash bags or styrofoam cups or toilet paper.
Ya know. Things you need, but hate to buy. Ew.
Like I said, I’ll do a post on my weirdly over-thought meal plan later.
Currently, I have my morning smoothie ( will post this recipe soon! ) for breakfast with my typical iced coffee, my yum-o salad for lunch, & breakfast-for-dinner for… dinner, obviously.
But. We’ll talk more about that LATERRRR.
I hope y’all find this post SO helpful!
Is there anything you just can’t leave the store without??
I’ve been trying to eat most of my meals at home lately ( because… *broke bitch* ), so I’m living & dying by my overly specific grocery list.
K. Well. Now I’m 3 glasses of wine deep & I’m more than tipsy, so it’s time for me to sign off before I say something dumb ( even though we all know about I’m about to say all of the embarassing things on my very public snapchat, LOL ).
Talk soon, babes! xx

I haven’t tried the Simple Truth multigrain waffles, but Paleo pancakes are one of my favorite things to make! I don’t do the whole Paleo diet, but since finding a pancake recipe, I no longer buy any mixes or frozen types. It’s so incredibly easy it almost hurts – 1 banana and two eggs. That’s it. Then blend them together in the blender and your pancake batter is done. It’s such a money saver and a super quick, healthy breakfast-for-dinner option! I’ll also add different things into the mix from time to time to keep it interesting (like oats, peanut butter, honey, vanilla extract, etc.).

This is SO helpful! I have been trying to hone in on what my absolute NEEDS are for the week. Really my biggest struggle is just eating what I buy – I always just want to go for tacos!!
Would you be able to speak to the benefits of the Vital Proteins? I keep seeing them pop up and have tried a sampler pack of it, but wondering if I want to use it long term. What kind of benefits did you see after using it for a while?

Hey Madison!
I LOVE Vital Proteins. I do a lot of things to keep my skin clear, build muscle, and get my greens, & I just really like that this particular product ( the beauty greens ) packs that ALL together. It’s the ease of use that keeps me coming back! xx
