A message to all my gals with a sweet tooth: welcome to your own personal slice of heaven.
I’ll keep this post short, sweet, & to the point, because y’all have been asking about this lil strawberry protein milkshake recipe since I debuted it on snapchat a couple of weeks ago, and I’m antsy to share.
It’s safe to say that it’s a MAJOR new favorite. I love whipping this up if I’m on-the-go in the morning or for an afternoon snack.
The base of this “milkshake” is frozen banana, which is what gives it a creamy, milkshake-like consistency.
I’m not usually one to like bananas ( I don’t hate them, but the flavor isn’t really my fav ), so I’m here to tell you that this milkshake contains a lot of banana, but isn’t overwhelmingly banana-y. ( lol )
What You’ll Need: Strawberry Protein Milkshake
2 Bananas, Chopped & Frozen
1/2 to 1 Cup of Frozen Strawberries
( *you can skip the strawberries for a more banana-cinnamom vibe )
1/3 to 1/2 cup of almond milk
( *the more milk you use, the thinner your shake will be. I like mine thick, so I didn’t use much milk! )
1 Scoop of my Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
( *I hate the taste of protein powder, & this is TASTELESS! love this stuff )
Dash of Cinnamon
( *I like LOTS )
Dash of Vanilla Extract
Optional: 1 TB of Chia Seeds
How-To: Strawberry Protein Milkshake
Combine ingredients in a food processor, & blend until smooth. Easy-peasy.
I topped mine with granola & defrosted strawberries. Also recommended: drink with a thick milkshake/smoothie straw.
I think this shake is SO yum with or without strawberries and with or without protein powder.
It’s a nice little healthy snack/meal/dessert to make it feel like you’re treating yourself.
Do y’all love, or do y’all love?
Speaking of being healthy, my ass has barely left the couch today. My roomie, Molly, & I have been watching documentaries/movies, eating queso & blogging all damn day.
It’s been the most productive LEAST productive day ever, I’d say. Does that make sense?
Now, I’m going to make some dinner, watch another documentary & do some more blog lyfe activities ( including putting the final touches on my fashion week vlog for y’all! ). Talk soon. xx
