It’s important, in my humble opinion, to incorporate small, simple luxuries into your day-to-day. One of those luxuries, for me, has always been DESSERT.
Growing up, my family considered dessert a necessity after both lunch & dinner. WE LOVE IT. That need for a post-meal sweet has stayed with me since basically birth. And I’m not willing to sacrifice it to achieve the “perfect body.”
I will always have dessert and it will always have me, lol. It’s my first love.
BUT– I have found simple ways to indulge my sweet-tooth in a relatively healthy way. I’m no longer eating 5-pound ice cream sundaes on a daily basis, HA ( literally me my entire childhood ).
One of those post-meal indulgences that I’ve found the MOST satisfying: my simple cinnamon steamer.
The KEY to this recipe ( & the secret to all my super-frothy lattes ) is Oatly’s Barista Edition Oat Milk.
I’m not sponsored by Oatly ( but HAI Oatly, I’m down if you are ), y’all know I always keep it real, EVEN if I AM being sponsored. I won’t steer you wrong.
I buy this stuff on Amazon in a pack of 2.
I noticed normal non-dairy milk doesn’t froth to my very specific froth-level preference, so using this type of non-dairy milk is ESSENTIAL.
For my frother, I use the one that came as an attachment to my Nespresso Machine. I have an old machine ( that still works perfectly! ), but you can find a similar machineĀ here. You can find the frother sold separately here.
You could also use a hand-held frother like this one.
simple cinnamon steamer
makes a single serving
what you’ll need
1 Cup Oatly Barista Oat Milk
Dash of Vanilla Powder
1-2 tsp of Coconut Sugar
Dash of Cinnamon
how to
If you’re using a stand-alone frother, add the milk first, and then the rest of the ingredients, then turn your frother on on the hot mode. Wait until the drink gets extra-foamy or until your frother stops automatically.
If you’re using a hand-frother, heat your milk to the desired temperature in the microwave, and then add your ingredients in. Mix/froth & enjoy!

I find this steamer to be such a sweet indulgence after dinner, as I’m winding down before bed. Obviously, you can add or take away ingredients you want, so your little treat is perfect for you.
Question: do you have a non-dairy milk preference that DOES actually froth up like regular milk? I’m on the look out.
Also, please share any variations of this recipe you test out on your own! I’m always interested in trying out your suggestions.
ANYWAYS, back to my 228009420 monotonous tasks that must be attended to today. I’m counting down the hours until I’m sitting on my couch, steamer in-hand, watching YouTube videos about aliens or some shit.
LOVE YOU. x
