Springtime Little Black Dress ( x Tobi )

Hi beebus.

I am MAJOR strugg-city today. It’s only 8 AM, and I’ve already given up on the whole day. Whoops.

I’m giving myself a Get-Out-of-Constitutional-Law-Exam-Free Card by finally going to the doctor & figuring out what’s up with me feeling like ass lately.

So, I’m finally listening to my mother’s advice. You’re welcome, Mom. You can chill now. ( LOL — I can’t wait for her to text me about this )

Anyone have some sick lyfe tips? I’ll be sleeping/reading/blogging inside all day ( & it’s a rainy, overcast day here in Texas, so this is wonderful timing ).

Okay, so about this dress.

I’ve been trying to step up my everyday outfit game in preparation for my move back to Los Angeles coming in May/June. Plus, when I wear real clothes ( i.e. not sweatpants & t-shirts ) during the day, I feel like it makes me get up & get going.

I feel like a real person who needs to do things with their life. RT if inspired.

BUT, I want to be comfortable too. I want the sweatpants & t-shirt feel, but the cute, put-together look. Ja feel?

ALSO, I like to be as naked as possible. Weird? Nothing is worse than feeling restricted by clothing. I hate it. HATE HATE HATE. Get it off of me, plz. If I could run around naked all day, I totally would. ( If you’ve seen me out, you’ve probably already gathered that I hate clothes. I’m the girl in the college bar with the completely see-through, bra-baring lace crop top ( literally wore this with a FL&L bra & flares on Friday ). Yep, that’s me. )

I’m a huge fan of throw-on-and-go dresses/rompers. This mini dress, in particular, is perfect to wear on a hot & sunny spring/summer day ( & it comes in SO many colors! you’ve seen the yellow version on my Instagram… proving that blondes can wear yellow, btw ).

I would recommend getting a few colors ( the light blue is SO pretty! ) and accessorizing with dainty necklaces/summery hats/ and sandals/wedges or converse kicks. It’s such a versatile dress, so it lends itself well to mixing things up a little.

SIDE NOTE/BRA TIP: I am drowning in nip-covers at my house ( seriously, I buy them in bulk ) because I will look for any reason to NOT wear a bra ( *please see the above hating clothes rant* ). And, TBH, my boobs don’t really move anywhere, so I’m lucky in that way. Pasties are a gal’s best friend.

For this look, I decided to go with a few short necklaces. I wear this black choker ( made by my friend, Jac, a Gem + Tonic! E-mail her ( via her website ) for requests/custom stuff! ) & this gold choker on repeat.

These chunky platforms ( LOVE chunky platforms ) are a fucking DREAM, guys. They’re so comfortable, easy to walk in, affordable, & SO CUTE LIKE WHAT. I’m obsessed.

They’re a going-out GODSEND. You ( most likely ) won’t be falling all over the place in them, and if they get dirty/stepped on/gross-AF, you won’t freak out ( that much ) because they don’t cost a small fortune.
