Today’s favorites are for my fellow bloggers & influencers ( or people just looking to make elevated content for FUN ): I’m sharing all the tech I’m using recently for things like shooting Instagram posts + videos to filming content for YouTube.
Most of these products are featured in my newly-created Amazon Shop under the “Tech” section! I’ll be adding to it as I discover new, useful products, so check back in the future for more, if you like this kind of nerdy goodness.
mini ring light
I’ve used a few different types of lighting apparatus in my time as a blogger. I started with two box lights in my college apartment, then moved on to a large ring light ( I still use this on occasion ), & now I use this smaller, more versatile ring light.
I prefer this specific ring light because it’s easier to store than other lighting options ( because it’s smaller, of course ), it allows you to choose between warm- & cool-tone light, and it comes with a bluetooth remote ( which is great if you don’t already have one ).
To note, this ring light is specifically for smart phones! It’s perfect for recording stories ( & tiktoks, if that’s a platform you create on! ).
tripod + bluetooth remote
My tripod ( with the bluetooth remote ) is my best friend, and I’m not afraid to admit it. I shoot with this gadget A LOT. Yes, it’s embarrassing to use at times, but I prefer to have full control over shooting my content with limited human interaction ( lol ). AKA- I don’t always have to rely on other people being around to get the content I need.
I shoot with my tripod at home & in public ( currently in the midst of recording a video about how I shoot my own Instagram content! you can subscribe to my channel here if you’re interested in seeing that when I post it! ).
This tripod is sturdy, folds up into a compact size ( easy for travel ), and, like I said, comes with a bluetooth remote. A narcissist’s ( I mean influencer’s ) DREAM.
multi-color mini reflector
For those of you who are intense about your lighting, I recommend this mini reflector big time!
Sometimes I’m too lazy to pull this out, but it’s nice to have just incase ya girl is interested in putting in the extra effort. This reflector is small enough to travel with ( I usually keep it in my car ) and comes with multiple reflective covers for different lighting effects.
vlogging camera (I)
This is the camera I currently use for vlogging, and I’ve been happy with it thus-far. My new lense for this camera comes next week, so I’ll update the Tech section of my Amazon store to include that lense if I end up prefering it!
I purchased this camera because I wanted to switch up my camera game ( see next product for more info ), and I thought the white option was more aesthetic!
vlogging camera (II)
This camera seems to be the gold-standard for vlogging cameras nowadays. I loved this camera and I don’t really have anything negative to say about it as far as its vlogging capabilities. Like I said above, I switched to a different Canon camera simply because I wanted a change!
To note with this camera: make sure you keep an eye on the screws that attach the screen to the camera! They tend to come loose. I wouldn’t really call this a negative factor in purchasing this camera, but do keep an eye on them, so you don’t risk your screen becoming detached.
Overall I recommend this camera for anyone wanting to film vlogs ( even more-so than the one I have currently! ).
external hard drive
Because my computer is old as fuck, I have to put all of my video & the majority of my photos on an external hard-drive. I also recommend having an external hard drive in general, no matter how old your computer is, to keep your computer running its smoothest. ESPECIALLY if you’re storing + editing video!
I use one of these hard drives for blog content + images, and another for video.
laptop stand
This laptop stand finally came back in stock, and I have a feeling I’ll be linking it a lot more in the upcoming weeks ( it’s one of the TOP products I’m asked to link via DM ).
This laptop stand is EXTRA, but it’s sturdy, adjustable in height/angle, and it’s big enough to hold your laptop and a notepad, or your lunch, or a glass of wine. Whatever ya need.
It’s a work-from-bed dream.
blue-light-blocking glasses
Lastly, while we are talking tech, it felt wrong to not include this blue-light-blocking glasses.
They come in a pack of two, they’re affordable, they’re available on Amazon Prime, and they’re cute as fuck. Oh, and did I mention they protect your lovely eye balls from the harmful effects of sustained blue light exposure?
I wear these on days I’ll be staring at a screen for a very long time, and I always put them on a couple hours before bed, in hopes they’ll help me fall asleep faster ( blue light keeps your brain stimulated, so it’s not great to be exposed to around bedtime! ).
What else should I add? I know I must be missing some must-haves.
Let me know what you think of these, or if you consider something else MAJOR to be a staple in your tech round-up. I love it when you talk dorky to me.
Hope y’all loved this one, beebs! Happy Friday & happy weekend! Stay safe out there and talk soon, X
