So, I lied.
I told y’all I was going to post this yesterday, but I was stuck in airports allllll day, & the wifi just didn’t agree with me. My sincerest apologies, beebus girls.
You see, my Dad is a pilot ( one of his MANY occupations… can’t keep up with him ), so I fly for free on standby on Southwest Airlines. This is a major perk that makes it easy for me to travel a lot for the blog, BUT there are those occasions where flights are so booked I end up waiting around in the airport for hours on end.
Occasionally, I get stuck in random cities for the night, staying at whichever Holiday Inn is closest to the airport. LOL– I actually got my little side boob tat when I got stuck overnight in St. Louis, trying to make it to New York for work last February.
Honestly, I don’t really mind getting stuck in random cities alone. It’s like a little adventure.
Let’s focus on this look, because there is so much I want to talk about here. All the fall trends going on.
First, can y’all tell I’m living in soft neutrals this fall ( check out this outfit & this outfit for more! )? Combining a number of neutral tones is my new thing.
Second, this tiered dress by Lioness, a super affordable brand I’m loving for cute going-out dresses & rompers, is such a fab find for fall. You can tie the sash around the waist, or wear it as a choker like I am here.
On to the choker sitch: choker stacking is giving me life. Well, actually, it’s giving the chokers I wear too much a new life. Layering a thick, solid colored choker with an embellished one gives any look a whole new vibe.
Lastly, as I’ve said before, over-the-knee boots are a must for fall/winter. They’re ultra-flattering ( they make your legs look a million miles long ) & ultra-cozy. I found these Marc Fisher boots online at Nordstrom, and they’re the closest thing I’ve found to the quality of the cult-favorite Stuart Weitzman Highland boots without costing an arm & a leg.

I’m really excited to turn this mini dress into a nighttime look with some black over-the-knee boots & a black statement choker. Or, the same embellished choker I’m wearing here with my black OTKs.
The accessorizing options are endless, which is a solid perk of neutral-colored dresses/rompers/tops/etc. Versatility is key.
