I’ll be honest– I’ve been sitting on my heels lately regarding a few projects I plan on bringing to life very soon.
I’ve been waiting, mentally preparing, strategizing, waiting some more, procrastinating, feeling unsure, & waiting some more. It’s made me lazier, less enthusiastic, drained, & TIRED.
I need a real kick in the pants, and I need to harness the energy it took for me to start blogging & take the initial leap of faith ( moving from Texas to Los Angeles ) to pursue my freaking DREAM.
I still feel that I’m in the middle of the “leap of faith” portion of my full-time blogging journey, but I’m growing steadier & more sure on a daily basis. To keep myself on my toes, I need to JUST F*CKING GO FOR IT in a big, meaningful way again.
That type of ambition & fearlessness absolutely gives me LIFE ( with a side of stress, but LIFE nonetheless ). These are a few of the words I’ve discovered lately, from the minds of some brilliant humans, that have stuck with me, simplifying a few of my more lofty goals.
I’ve noticed that DOING whatever it is that you feel you are meant to do ( or doing something that you just want to do ) requires specific goal-setting, visualizing how you are going to go about doing it, and not allowing small inconveniences & obstacles keep you from STARTING.
It’s incredibly easy to get intimidated, and allowing that intimidation to keep you stagnant is like standing on the edge of the cliff, looking down like WTF. Sometimes you just have to set the goal & clearly map out the first steps of the overall plan, and then you jump off the cliff to see what happens.
What you learn along the way can educate you, inspire you, & better prepare you for what’s to come. That’s when the mapping out of the next steps can occur, once you’re FALLING.
Luckily, you don’t have to deal with a real cliff & a REAL fall ( hopefully. )
I think what makes the goal-setting part so important is that you know what to ask for from yourself & from those around you. ASKING FOR WHAT YOU WANT is the part of the journey that I need to get better at it.
You can start by, and excuse me for getting all ~child of the universe~ here ( I DO live in Los Angeles, what do you expect? ), putting what you want out in the universe. Talk to people about what you want. Say it out loud. Surround yourself with people who understand your goal or your plan or your purpose.
Asking for what you want is so powerful. I’ve had a few instances lately where I’ve SAID that I wanted something to happen, and it happened soon after. There’s something very freeing about making your intentions & dreams known. It’s powerful.
Plus, you never know who’s listening.
Other people are incredible resources for knowledge & growth, and you might just meet the right mentor or partner or friend who can help you out, guide you, or support you in getting to your goal.
These 6 quotes have really resonated with me lately, and I’m hoping they give you guys a new perspective or some inspiration to do what you WANT to do with your life.
Whatever your goal is, whatever it is you want to accomplish or create or DO, just start. Start in the middle of the night when your thoughts are manic, your plan is loosely created, & you get a tiny, random burst of inspiration ( speaking from specific experience here– that’s how I started this blog that I now MAKE A FULL TIME LIVING OFF OF…. like whhhhhat??? ). You can move with the punches on a daily basis, but you have to begin first.
