Hey babes!
FRIDAY is upon us. Obviously, that means we are getting ready to spend the weekend relaxing outside, brunching, etc. At least that’s what I’ll be doing. The weather in Texas is GLORIOUS.
I’ll be making a quick trip to San Antonio with friends to hang out and explore a little. I’ve been on-the-go a lot lately!
In the spirit of daytime-chill activities, I thought I’d share with you my daytime-chill makeup routine. I don’t usually wear much makeup at all (even at night), but I put a few products on my face/eyes/lips to make me look more awake, fresh-faced and kind of effortlessly glam.
Also, I don’t like to spend a lot of time on my makeup. I really don’t have time for that most days.
This effortless look is the perfect blend of California cool and Texas laid-back. SO ME.
I’ve partnered with COVERGIRL to lay out my exact routine, step by step:
FACE
♥ Exfoliate and moisturize before makeup ALWAYS. Also, I always apply sunscreen (I mix it with my moisturizer). Wait until everything is properly absorbed.
♥ Tinted moisturizer is my best friend forever and ever, amen. I use a thin, dewy-finish tinted moisturizer to get that flawless, no-makeup look.
♥ Bronzer/blush. I sweep on a shimmery bronzer/blush (sometimes both) to deepen my skin tone (I like to look more on the naturally tan side) and bring out brightness in my cheeks. To get a more glamorous look, I brush a loose shimmer powder on my cheekbones to fake a RADIANT glow (fave tip).
EYES
♥ Brown liner on my upper lash line and inner rim. It makes my eyes pop without getting too crazy and Because I’m a blonde, I always use brown liner. I feel like it looks less obvious.
♥ Slightly shimmery cream shadow, OR I sweep a bit of bronzer on my lids. I only use ONE coat and make it super light. My eyes are small, so I avoid wearing heavy eye shadow. During the day, heavy shadow looks like a bit much anyways.
♥ Voluminous, GLAM mascara is the STAR of the show! A thickening mascara adds some drama to an otherwise natural look. The new COVERGIRL Plumpify Mascara goes on clean, is extra-plumping (obvi) and is buildable without clumping. PSA: STOP WEARING CLUMPY, NASTY It ends up looking dirty rather than full of volume and youthful! Don’t. Do. It. I opt for a dark brown or black/brown. You can buy COVERGIRL Plumpify Mascara at the drugstore or online. Makeup-guru quality for drugstore price. Major key to success.
♥ Filled-in brows. I lightly fill in my brows with a brow powder and brush them up with a clean mascara wand.
LIPS
♥ Sheer gloss or balm. My lips are naturally pretty pigmented, so I throw on a little light-colored gloss (nothing too heavy/sticky) or a balm to finish the look.
