Heya lads.
So, I have another ‘healthy’ recipe for y’all today.
I found a really yum-looking Cookies & Cream Hot Cocoa recipe via Boys Ahoy, & I decided to create my own, lightened-up version of it. If you want the YOLO version of this recipe in all its decadent glory, you can find the original recipe here.
You can also find a similar recipe for my skinny-girl, warm cinnamon & vanilla almond milk here ( equally as yum & lightened-up ).
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
( makes 2 servings )
♥ 2 Cups of Almond Milk
♥ 3-5 Tablespoons of Cocoa Powder
♥ 4-5 Oreos ( or Glutino Cookies for Gluten-Free! )
♥ Cool Whip or Whipped Cream
HOW-TO:
♥ Combine heated almond milk ( heated VERY HOT via stovetop or microwave ), desired amount of cocoa powder ( I used about 3 tablespoons, but you can make it more/less chocolatey depending on your tastes! ) & cookies in a blender.
♥ Blend on high setting until smooth & liquid-y.
♥ Top with Cool Whip or whipped cream ( & maybe an extra cookie… because it’s pretty ).
On the real, I feel like all I do is browse Pinterest for recipe ideas & find ways to make them healthier. Like I’ve said a GAZILLION times before, eating healthy shouldn’t be a miserable experience.
I basically plan my day around what I’m eating, and I indulge way more often than I really should, to be perfectly honest. That being said, I’m all for a balanced lifestyle that doesn’t deprive your tastebuds of glorious, tasty foods/drinks, but also keeps the health or your bod in mind ( most of the time ).
The easiest way to stay satisfied, for me, is to take the foods I crave, and get creative with adjusting ingredients & flavoring to lightened them up a little.
Simple.
You can find more skinny & easy recipes in my recipe index.
& please feel free to share some of your favorite lightened up recipes with me any time! I’m always down for a new recipe to try ( & to share with my H+H peeps! ).

Pinterest can be so dangerous, especially for finding new recipes. This one looks delicious. Does the almond milk taste much different than regular milk?
