WASSUP my main beebs?
Tonight, I’m having a little night-in on the blog & in real life. Imagine that.
On the Friday night schedule right now: getting food delivered, snacking on junk foods & sippin’ on some wine, studying & working on job applications, and CLEANING forever.
V exciting & entertaining, I know.
I thought I would share something with y’all that I thought was SO cute n’ fun and sounded like a good mix of elegant ( what I want to be ) & not fancy/elegant at all ( what I actually am, LOLz ):
JUNK FOOD WINE PAIRING.
FUN, right?? I thought so.
I’m sippin’ on some of my red/white wine favorites from Gloria Ferrer while nibbling on these salty & sweet snacks. Like I said, you can feel fancy pairing your wine/food flavors while also eating some real-girl things.
Sometimes, I eat my potato chips with my pinky out, ya know, to add a little more elegance to my life. Just a suggestion.
So, Gloria Ferrer is my GIRL, because this wine house was the first in Sonoma County to plant clones from France to grow in their US vineyard. AKA: this wine is legit.
Honestly, I got a little picky/annoying about my wine after I spent time in Italy & the South of France a few summers ago. Europeans take their wine ( & food/wine pairing! ) pretty seriously, and they don’t deal with crappy wine… life is too short for that. They’re really living with their quality wine & carb-obsession over there.
GOALS.
Another little tidbit: the Gloria Ferrer collection of vineyards is known as EXPERT-grade in the production of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay, and they produce still & sparkling wines that are just as flawless as some of the high-end, world-famous wines.
Remember this post I did about holiday entertaining? There’s a reason I can’t get enough of these wines.
Fancy AF.
Lovin’ it. Especially in my Girls-Night-In setting, and ESPECIALLY when paired with not-so-waistline-approved snacks.
A girl’s gotta live sometimes.
So let’s get down to some salty-&-sweet, boozy business, shall we?
Pinot Noir Junk Food Pairings:
Barbecue Chips & Dark Chocolate
I went all-out with the junkiness ( how is this not a real word? ) & got some greasy BBQ chips and some cocoa-rich dark chocolate. There are plenty of healthy BBQ-flavored chip/pretzel options at normal grocery stores that would totally work with Pinot Noir as well.
Make sure you’re pairing Pinot Noir with smooth dark chocolate ( 54% ), to be extremely exact as far as that goes.
Chardonnay Junk Food Pairings:
Potato Chips & Microwave Popcorn. BUTTERFINGER also works! Yum-o.
Again, I got the greasiest, fattiest potato chips on the shelf, but there are SO many salty chip options that would work with Chardonnay. Most potato chips are Gluten Free, BTW! I was in luck with this one. You could also use those popped potato-chip-flavored chips are so yum & a little better for you.
To balance out all the crap, I snagged some Skinny Girl microwave popcorn ( the buttery kind! ).
So who’s going to try these pairings out?? Snap me, payton_sartain, your thoughts/what you decide to pair! SO CUTE. Ugh, I’m obsessed.
Another girls-night-in tip: Shamelessly watching re-runs of Kardashians or The Bachelor ( did y’all see Ben’s choice coming??? ) is recommended but not required, LOLz.
Later, weens.

PS: I’ll be spending next weekend in Athens, GA! Anyone have any food recs or other suggestions? Feel free to reach out and lemme know about those! I’m so pumped to be on-the-go again.
