Hello my BAE-busses ( <<< is that brilliant or what?? You could say I’m modern day Shakespeare with my words, I suppose. )
I’m getting extra, extra girly-gal on y’all tonight, talking about all things GIRLS’ NIGHT IN. I am obsessed with getting my girlfriends together over a set up of snacks, wine, & overly-girly activities.
I mean, some Friday nights I want avoid spending $15 on a cocktail &/or getting swarmed by the psycho stalker boys at Bungalow. ( *If any of you are reading this, I have a message: y’all need to chill out. ) Ya feel?
Also, setting up for parties/events is one of my favorite things to do ever, if y’all haven’t noticed. Please see this post & this post for proof of my love for party spread prep. As a master of self-reinvention, I’m switching gears from Shakespeare Beebus to Martha Stewart Beebus right meow.
So, let’s talk girls’ night musts, shall we?
1. Bites & Booze
Clearly, for me, this is the most important part of the entire experience. I’m always game for a little snack setup that compliments the wine/drinks we’re having. You could go ~fancy~ with wine & a cheese board, or get a little crazy with wine & junk food pairing ( read my super-technical post on that fun shiz here ). Whatever you decide, don’t think about calories. Come on… it’s girls’ night, okay?
2. Set Up the Spread
To set up my GNI spread, I went straight to the promised land… AKA: Target. As an extremely aesthetically-driven person, I HAVE to beautify the spread. I set up all of my meals to be photo-worthy ( because, let’s be honest, I snapchat literally everything I eat. *hates self* ). Target has so many cute AF serving/appetizer plates, bowls, and lots of barware.
3. Beautifying the Beebuses
It wouldn’t be girls’ night without a little at-home spa vibe happening. After a few glasses of wine, I suggest y’all throw on some sheet masks ( the serial-killer mask ones are my favorite, LOL ), paint your nails, do some ice rolling, maybe add in some micro-needling ( before your face mask ) if you’re wanting to get real intense with it. Do your girly-gal thing.
4. Girly-Gal Activities
This one should be self-explanatory… My roomie & I often opt for a Netflix/HBO movie or documentary. Drunkenly discussing documentaries is included in my ‘top 5 favorite pastimes’ list. Other suggestions: speaking on odd sexual encounters or dating horror stories, planning trips we will never actually take but REALLY believe we will ( because, wine ), watching music videos from the early 2000s, etc.
5. Get Even
I consider myself to be a pretty good friend ( to the 5 total friends I have in my life… LOL ), but not I’m-paying-for-all-of-your-shiz-all-the-time level of goodness. I rely on Square Cash, the best money transferring app ever, to collect girls’-night-in funding from my beebs. Using the app is easy: download the free Square Cash app, do the 3-minute sign up, enter your debit card, & you’re ready to transfer. Square Cash is the only money-transferring app to offer instant cash transfers ( for a 1% fee ) and it has none of those weird TMI social alerts that other apps have. I don’t think it’s necessary for people to know who I’m paying and for what. No thanks.
Does this sound like YOUR typical girls’ night in or what? Sometimes, you just have to kick back without the annoying AF men in your life.
It’s therapeutic.
In other news, I’m wine drunk off of ONE glass of vino while writing this right now. I must say, I’m a little ashamed of my recently-acquired level of light-weight-ness. I am not okay rn, hahaha.
Please share any and ALL girls’ night in experiences with me on snapchat, y’all! Love to see all my beebus girls getting together for a little TLC.
Talk soon! xx
