Hi peeps.
So, as I promised on Sunday, I’m sharing yet another detox tip with y’all today ( check out other posts on detox here & here ).
I spent last weekend in Texas, indulging in a little beer & pizza combo, so in preparation for Coachella next weekend, I have to get my shit together this week. Big time. I’m talkin’ detoxing my liver and resetting my digestion ( need. more. energy. ).
I mean, who wants to walk around in a field full of beautiful models & actresses feeling like a fat, bloated, swollen cow? Not so cute.
I read about this particular detox tea, Dandelion Root Tea ( with Hibiscus & Cinnamon, YUM-O ), in a health magazine awhile ago. BUT, I couldn’t find it ANYWHERE. So annoying. Then, I saw that one of my favorite health food brands, Kiss Me Organics, was selling this tea on Amazon recently. I almost died, because I LOVE KMO ( Proof is in my Matcha recipe…. the bomb ) and knew I had to try it out fer sher.
For those of you on Instagram ( aka: if you don’t live under a rock ), this whole ‘detox tea’ theme is old-as-balls, annoying & overdone. I’m a little sketched out by all the promotion I see for various types of detoxification programs, and I’m reeeeeallly skeptical about the ‘results’ that all of these Insta-famous, pageant-beauties are seeing. I mean, I’m just not buying it.
I’ve been loading up on this stuff for two days now, and I can honestly say I’m feeling a lot jazzier. Here are some of the sweet things that this particular form of organic detox tea can do for you & yer bod ( via Kiss Me Organics ):
1. Supports Healthy Digestion, Liver, & Kidney Function: Detox the liver & kidneys from toxins that can build up over time ( yuck ). Healthy digestion helps the body to absorb more nutrients and improve physical and cognitive functions.
2. Raw & Organic: Raw Dandelion Root is extremely nutrient rich and provides more vital minerals and vitamins to your body when compared to roasted Dandelion Root ( and that just sounds gross ).
3. Vitamin-Rich: Raw Dandelion root is rich in Vitamins A, C, D and B-complex plus Iron, Potassium and Zinc. A diet rich in these nutrients can help treat mood disorders, liver disorders and boost a weakened immune system ( an Uber driver just told me to take more Zinc when I’m feeling a little sick… he’s a genius ).
4. Hibiscus & Cinnamon Are Good For Ya Too: Hibiscus has been shown to help regulate blood pressure and Cinnamon has been shown to regulate blood sugar and reduce bad cholesterol.
I pretty much stocked-up on a lifetime supply of this stuff to get me through the next few crazy-ass weeks.
You can purchase your own little bit of KMO-heaven here.
I’ll be making a little trip to NYC in the coming month. Agh… life is so hard, amiright?
Do y’all have any suggestions as far as where to eat/ stay/ what to do/ where to shop/ etc???
I’m such a n00b-y n00b.
PS: This amazing mug is from Urban Outfitters.

I’ve never tried detox tea before, but this looks sooo interesting (especially the dandelion root part). Hopefully this summer I can try some out!
