I love this stuff. Almond milk and I recently became friends, as I’m a little wary of substitutions that may sacrifice flavor or my overall nomming experience. I want to be healthy, yes, but I HAVE to enjoy my food. Meals are always my favorite parts of the day. Eating should be satisfying and delicious… as well as healthy when you can find the right way to do it.
I’ve never been a huge milk-by-itself fan, call me crazy, but I do love how indulgent it can be in drinks like coffee (duh), hot chocolate, bourbon-milk punch (ha, I love you New Orleans), etc, etc, etc.
Almond milk? Still decadent. Still indulgent. I actually think it tastes sweeter & creamier than regular milk. Maybe thats just me.
I found a recipe on Pinterest that inspired the creation of this little mug-o-magic. Its for those nights when you curl up in front of the fire and want to sip something warm. Coffee is a no-go for me after 3 p.m. (okay, maybe sometimes its a go) because it really messes with my ability to fall asleep. Hot Chocolate is YUM, but I don’t want to consume 2903485402954 grams of sugar right before I hit the pillow.
To make this, I’ll either heat the almond milk on the stove or in the microwave (not the best way, but its the easiest) to the point of HOT, HOT, boiling/almost boiling. Then, I add the rest of the ingredients to taste, adding more if necessary.
